I have used this station on numerous occasions for well over 20 years. Connections to central London are brilliant. I also like the layout of the bus and tram stops which are directly outside the main entrance to the station, very well designed.
My only criticism would be the main entrance itself, if it rains heavily, the floor can get very very slippery and is quite a serious health and safety risk.
East Croydon Station is served by Gatwick express Southern & thameslink trains. This station is very busy all day everyday with lots of passengers. There is three entrance & exits here along with lifts & ramps to all six platforms. Plenty of staff to help on the platforms & ticket hall area with ticket machines & ticket office open throughout the day. The platforms are very long & the station is clean & tidy with toilets & waiting rooms available & also coffee stalls on the platforms. Outside the station is a number of bus routes & tram services available. Trains from East Croydon go towards Bedford, Brighton, Gatwick Airport, London Bridge, Victoria & Purley and many other places too.

Nice station and always busy. Coffee available at main entrance and on platforms. Trains stop here 24hrs a day.
All the delays, no actual help and a lack of cameras being used on a train and 80% of the time I find myself at East Croydon, there's always 1 problem after another. Platform 2 is also one of the worst platforms known to man
A staff of Southern rail was the most rude person ive ever met . He is not happy with his job. No patience in assisting passengers . I think its not safe to travel to East croydon because of this staff. I had a very bad experience when it comes to customer service . What he done is unacceptable. His name is Irikefe.
I use this station most days. Good train services and ticket windows and machines. Toilets and waiting areas and some coffee outlets. Busy at peak times and slow exit via ramps. A bit windswept on platforms.
Station organization is terrible. If you need to take a train and people are getting out , you can't walk in the ramps as they don't move to one side . They should have separation barriers. Today at 1806h I asked a basic question to a staff member at barrier, she didn't know or ask did not ask anyone and told me to queue to the ticket office to ask. Staff are lazy even to ask questions ! Unbelievable.
